Gratitude List

Meditating on what you are grateful for is an important part of recovery and ongoing mental health. Maintain a gratitude list and read it regularly. If you feel you have nothing to be grateful for, have someone help you create one. Here are some of the things many Americans feel grateful for:

  • Regular supply of food and water
  • Shelter from the elements
  • A comfortable place to sleep
  • Love and support of one or more family members
  • Love and support of one or more friends
  • Love and support of one or more pets
  • Access to mental health support groups
  • Access to mental health medication
  • Leisure time and hobbies
  • Access to beautiful beaches and / or landscapes
  • Access to entertainment
  • Freedom of speech
  • Freedom of assembly
